Is there a way to deal with hair loss due to Hypo or Hyperthyroidism?

On the contrary to the prevailing notion, hair loss is still a common problem among women; and even though it affects men and women likewise, women grieve more about hair loss because of their emotional relationship with hair. Wipe out processed foods and junk foods from your daily diet, and turn to a diet which incorporates enough vitamin D and B 12. Ayurvedic remedies like Ashwagandha, Varunadi kasaya, guggulu or triphala are also very effective in treating thyroid.

  • Turn to onion juice, to prevent hair loss caused by alopecia areata and improve the texture of your hair.
  • Mix Ashwagandha with pure coconut oil and apply it in your hair to strengthen the hair roots.
  • Make sure you spend 20-30 minutes in the Sun, to ensure that your body gets sufficient vitamin D. You may also consider taking additional supplements to cover up the deficiencies.
  • Turn to spices like ginger and turmeric for achieving a hormonal balance.

It is also advisable to avoid any type of processed foods and heavily refined foods if you have hypothyroid problems. Minimise the consumption of sugar, caffeine and alcohol, to get best results.
